Creative Commons Search

Creative Commons Licenses allow creators to make their works available for use – and they allow creators to put conditions on those uses. (Note this website is licensed using Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Unported License. That means other can use material from this site for non-commercial purposes, but they must cite our work.

  • The Noun Project – CC – copyright free icons for everything. Note: you must cite artist.
  • Unsplash – artistic high resolution images. Photographers make available. So you should credit them. Just copy the “say thanks” pop-up and add it to bottom of page.
  • Pixabay – another collection much like Unsplash. High-quality and sometimes abstract photos. Free to use – credit the photographer.
  • Creative Commons Search – search a variety of sources and media types. Loads of content, but not always the best quality.
  • Internet Archive Mix of CC and public domain content. Non-profit library of millions of free books, movies, software, music, websites, and more.
